The platform was supposed to be highly scalable ... that was supposed to cater to huge data, near-real-time sync between OTM and the freight platform and support a huge number of concurrent requests. Transform technologies intend to sell this as a SaaS product to other freight forwarders too.
We were tasked with the responsibility of getting shipment-related data from OTM in real-time. The field mapping was a big challenge.
The documents management system was needed that would support the uploading of documents and then pushing the same to OTM. Conversely, pull the documents from OTM like BL documents and provide the document viewer to view the same.
The platform was also supposed to provide the features like adding and submission of shipping instructions. Adding was supposed to stage the instructions and be allowed to modify them till the time it was finally submitted. The submission was supposed to update the instructions in OTM.
User management and role-based access were yet another key ask. The shipment and accounting details were supposed to be made available based on the role(s) of the user.
The platform was also supposed to support the multi-domain (multi-companies / multi-location) of the freight forwarder.
Email & WhatsApp based notifications were supposed to be provided as well
